The United Methodist Church welcomes all persons to attend our churches, receive Holy Communion, and participate in its mission and ministries. We also welcome all persons who recognize the Lordship of Jesus Christ to be baptized and become members. The mission of The United Methodist Church is “To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”.

The people of The United Methodist Church are part of the second largest Protestant denomination in the United States. We have approximately 12.8 million members globally. The United Methodist Church was formed when the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged in 1968; however, we trace our heritage back to the movement begun in 1729 in England by John and Charles Wesley.

East Whittier United Methodist Church (EWUMC) has been an important part of the Whittier community for many years. Our church is a part of the East District of the California Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church. Our mission statement at EWUMC is to usher people into the presence of Jesus Christ and to feed, equip and send them to serve.
